Quick Tip: Grab the Vanity URL for Your Facebook Page

I was sharing a few web tips the other day with a friend and in looking at her Facebook page I quickly realized that she did not yet have a vanity (personalized) URL set-up. This is something FREE and easy to do in just a few minutes.

I’m referring to what you see in the browser’s address bar when you open a Facebook page. For example, I have a page for my non-profit DIRT Crew Student Ministries. If you click the following link my Facebook page opens and you can see my vanity URL in the address bar:  https://www.facebook.com/dirtcrew2001 (please visit and like!).

Before I claimed my free Facebook vanity URL it looked more like this:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/dirtcrew2001/100730933418384?id=100730933418384&sk?=

Why Does It Matter?

  • Looks more professional
  • Shorter
  • More memorable
  • Easier to share with your customers
  • More searchable on Facebook

How Do You Get One?
This question has been answered so many times by trainers and bloggers that there is no need for me to reinvent the wheel. Let me point you to Nicky Kriel | Social Media Coach & Trainer who has done a fine job of quickly explaining the how-to.
